Serve your community - We are people of action serving our three towns of Charlotte, Shelburne, and Hinesburg, Vermont. We do everything from installing bike repair stations and clearing trails to flipping burgers at Little League games, donating books to libraries, and parking cars at community events. This year alone, we've raised over $20,000 for community activities, scholarships, local food shelves and more. We sponsor a Halloween parade, Pie Day, and other community events. In past years, we have sent a team of people to Honduras to help a community there. We are constantly seeking new ways to help improve the lives of people in our three towns - and the larger world!
Meet good people - You will meet people from across our towns who want to build a world where people unite to take action and creating lasting change - across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Have fun - We have fun together! Whether it is dropping golf balls from helicopters or just sharing the fun things in our lives in our weekly meetings, we gather together to build friendships and enjoy each other's company.
Learn about our region - Each week we invite speakers from local nonprofit organizations, businesses, government agencies and other organizations who help us learn more of what is going on - and how we can help.
Join global opportunities - We are part of the global Rotary organization with over 1.4 million members in 46,000 clubs. There are opportunities to get involved in activities and projects - and to meet amazing people - from all around the world.
Develop leadership skills - If you want to develop your own leadership skills, Rotary has outstanding training and opportunities for people to become stronger leaders, and to develop skills useful in the larger community and other parts of your life.
Enjoy great conversation! - Before our meeting, we gather for conversations and build great friendships. Join us any Wednesday morning at the Shelburne United Methodist Church on Church Street in the heart of Shelburne. Coffee and conversation begins at 7:00, our meeting starts at 7:30, the speaker usually starts near 8:00am and we are finished by 8:30am.
Other information: Our club started over 55 years ago. We currently have over 50 members ranging in age from late-20s to late 80s 🙂, and split almost evenly between men and women. We meet at a church because they have a large community room and a commercial kitchen - we have no religious or political affiliation and welcome people of all beliefs and affiliations. We are a registered 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
